Acts 1:8- But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
The world as we see it is dying right in front of us. It’s no secret that many people are just goingthrough the motions of life without purpose. They want to see hope; they want to believe that
God is real. The only way they can see it is through us. God has called all of us to be His
witnesses! What is a witness? A witness is a person who has factual testimony of certain events.
If they were called on the witness stand to give their testimony, they could speak with confidence and with clarity. Why? Because they can only say what they have seen with their own eyes.
The Lord Jesus declared to his disciples in Acts 1:8 that the Holy Spirit would empower them to be His witnesses. They were to testify of all the miracles that Jesus had performed. They were to declare that Jesus was Lord and Savior. Their testimony had credibility because they could only speak from their own experiences and observations.
Since we’ve come to Christ, you are witnesses of His power to heal and deliver us from sin and condemnation. You have undisputable evidence because you experienced His power! We should burn with passion to never miss an opportunity to give our testimony! God has made the world into a spiritual courtroom. Let’s take the stand and be a witness for the Lord!
